John Weston creates ecstatic images of a perverted Americana. Heavily influenced by “popular” arts such as comics and films, these candy colored visions vibrate with an energy at once compelling and overwhelming. Refusing to be pigeon-holed, Weston’s art takes the form of paintings, books, installations, drawings, and videos. These works deal with themes ranging from Sex and Violence to Decoration and Perception, and are intended to be accessible on experiential, visual and theoretical levels.
