Body Capture, Head Mount,
A new work by J. Damron
May 22nd – June 19th, 2010
Reception: Saturday, May 22nd, 7-9 pm
Gallery hours: Sat 11am – 5pm (& by appointment)
Project Room G3 is pleased to present an exhibition of objects, Body Capture, Head Mount by J. Damron. This work is part of the series red lips, war paint, half a horse (different works from that series also showed at the Treehouse Gallery in Los Angeles, 2007). The objects in Project Room G3 will hold or capture physicality, a body presence, occupying a ground between ritual and play.
There will also be a performance art work on May 22 during the opening. The central object in the exhibit, a large projector (lantern) built out of cedar, metal and fabric, will be an intermediary between a “velvet corral jump” and the resulting image residues of those actions.
